Good coffee place in Dupont area?

My family is meeting an old roommate of mine for coffee in the Dupont Circle area--he's in for business--and I have no idea what good places there are. Preferably, it would be a low-key place that doesn't mind a seven year old girl talking a lot (i.e., my daughter).|||There are a couple of Starbucks, one on Connecticut at the Circle itself and one south of the Circle. There's a Xando Cosi at Connecticut and R Street and another just south of the Circle. If you don't mind tea, there's a Teaism on R Street just west of Connecticut.
