Can i bring a lighter into the US?

I am bringing a S.t. dupont lighter into the US from korea...i was wondering how i would get it through or if it was even possible.|||If you're going to try and carry it on your person or in your carry on you will have to leave it behind.

If you pack it in your luggage that goes in the cargo then it will be okay. I bring back collector knives frequently packed in my cargo luggage often. I also brought back lighters. I believe they must be empty of fluid.

Edit:

By empty of fluid I was speaking in terms of butane lighters which are refillable or Zippo Lighters or any other type of refillable lighter. Basically it can't have the ability to accidentally ignite. Since 9 - 11 the restrictions are more stringent. I highly doubt the will let you have the lighter in your carry on bags. I've seen so many lighters confiscated. If you can't check your bags and must carry them on the plane, mail the lighter to yourself.|||Only if you place it in your checked baggage... if you attempt to bring it in your carry-on, there's a good chance that it will be confiscated.|||Can't say I have brought through a St. Dupont lighter, but I have brought through Bic lighters from Europe to the USA without being questioned. Shouldn't have a problem|||As far as customs goes, yes of course you can bring a lighter in.|||I don't think so. You could just buy it in America. They're not that expensive.|||no
