Boycotting Israel. Why is the West Pro-Palestinian?

This is what's been happening almost everywhere on our planet.

Example 1.

Israel was to have participated in the Madrid-hosted Solar Decathlon to take place next year.

The Solar Decathlon in Madrid is supported by the US Department of Energy, Philips, Mitsubishi Electric, solar energy companies, Chrysler, DuPont, Velcro and many other large corporations.

On Wednesday Spain disqualified academics from Israel from competing in a solar power design event, due to the fact that their university falls into the West Bank region. This is part of a new set of sanctions against Israel relating to its current settlement policy."

Another example:

The jewish film AJAMI:

The Toronto Declaration and the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel,) protested against a festival decision to honor Tel Aviv and its centenary celebrations.

They know the truth: "Tel Aviv is built on destroyed Palestinian villages."

The film was banned.

It took 7 years to shoot it, but no one will be able to watch it.

Can we ignore the fact that after months of exhaustive research, including conducting 188 interviews and reviewing 300 reports, 10,000 pages of documents, 30 videos, and 1,200 photographs, the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict released the findings of its investigation in a thoroughly documented 575 page report?

Are we doing the right thing?

Should be boycott everything that comes out of "israel"?

My opinion:

In a few years we shall be labeled as "collaborators" to the fascist and/or nazi regime that destroyed Palestine if we don't.

What's yours?

Ευχαριστώ πολύ|||My friend it's all the Nations United against war and crime.

Even Justice Richard Goldstone is Jewish and he is the chief prosecutor of the United Nations' International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, and a governor of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

In accepting this duty, Justice Goldstone reiterated that his mission would undertake "an independent, evenhanded and unbiased investigation."

We all stand with our Palestinian friends.

There is an investigation here in Sweden as well.

There have been rumors that many Nobel prizes were given to the wrong individuals in the past.

Maybe this is the time for our jewish friends to look Truth in the eye finally.

Greetings|||The world is not pro-palestinian otherwise there wouldnt have been an Isreal.

secondly, Isreal has one after another defied the UN and has broken international laws and yet it is unscathed and is referred to as a democracy and not as a theocracy which it clearly is.

Now that the americans have defied the UN (and paid the price for going it alone) Isreal seems to feel it can also ignore the UN.

It has waged a immoral battle against the Palestinians dumping 40000 tonnes of bombs on their heads barely an year ago - without so much as a rebuke from the western powers.

Let any other country try to do that - why even their favorite dictator saddam Hussien couldnt get away with doing it to Kuwait.

It cannot do all of this without world support.

The world is not pro-palestinian otherwise they would have had a state by now.

it would just take americans to put sanctions on isreal and to choke their weapons supply and the billions of dollars of free money every year to make Isreal come to its knees. But will america do it? No way.

Make no mistake Isreal is nothign but america's stooge in the middle east put here to do their dirty work - how can they be against Isreal then??

Stray incidents in unimportant countries like spain and canada do not mean anything.|||I have been hearing this boycott crap for half a century and have yet to see it do any harm to Israel or cost it in any significant way.

Your assumption that the world is Pro Pal is just wrong and self serving.|||As I saw before you are a Greek as I'm a Muslim. And this statement with such details is another proof. A "Greek Guy" would not spent time searching for these little known small details of the Arabs war against Israel.

Israel was and is #1 in Solar energy research and applications. Probably this was the real reason for not letting Israel to compete...|||I recommend you read the Goldstone UN fact finding report on Gaza

You could also become a regular at the blogs of Phil Weiss and Rabbi Rosen.

Ciao!|||I can say that we are finally witnessing a dramatic change in the international opinion regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, better 60 years late than never.|||Min tous dineis simasia tous kollimenous.Epeidi den sumfwneis mazi tous, simainei oti eisai aravas!LOL

I have been boycotting Israel as much as I know.I mean , whatever is related to Israel and I know it .

No Alatini biscuits, no Coka-Cola, no Levi's jeans,etcetc...|||What´s up with the Canadians- let the Canadians answer, I am not in on this topic. But about Spain...

To put all clear from the start, i am writing from Spain, I live here and I know what´s behind this story of the "Solar Boycott" from the inside. One very well-known Spanish company invested dozens of millions of dollars in the R%26amp;D of the solar systems which would increase the efficiency of the solar batteries on the days of the reduced sun radiation (when the sun is covered with clouds, for example). Another part (and investor) in these researches was the GE.

The Israelis, who are one of the world undisputable leaders in Solar systems, offered much more interesting and effective solution which would make the researches by the Spanish and American companies absolutely worthless- and as a result, got under "boycott", which means the consumers in Spain will buy the Spanish-American systems- and pay 15-20 % more.

And if you really think the people in Spain support palestinians, then you know nothing about the real feelings and moods of the people who live in Spain- and in Europe. The palestinians have the support of the ARABS who live in Europe. But from the Europeans?

You live in a Wonderland, my poor friend.|||so you AREN'T the second Nazi regime?! man thats news to me, talk about a wake call|||The US is solidly pro-Israel even if the rest of the West is waking up to the reality of the magnitude of the crimes of the perpetual victimhood mass deception. Being surrounded by pro-Israel propaganda, it is sometimes hard to see that the rest of the West takes issue with Israel, but I hope it is true.

To the question if is boycotting the right thing? Absolutely. Short of invading, which I would not support, boycotting, divestment and sanctions are THE way to get the message across. S. Africa got the message. Past campaigns to boycott companies like Nestle or Starbucks aren't necessarily that helpful, but academic, sports, art boycotts are the way to go. It will send the message via the media and in a way that better speaks to ordinary Israelis so that they will think about who and what they are supporting and it also that the economic component when tourism and such are limited.|||After that Gaza thing everything went south in israel.

They have to pay for everything they've done son!

Our prez is fighting rite now on a two fronts war.

My guess is that he's got the power to win both wars.

He's got the full support of all of them self-hating jews like E. Rahm and Axelrod anyways.|||I thought you werre serious, but I see now that you are just trying to be ufnny.

The Goldstone Report is a totally biased document that ignores facts that interfere with its thesis.

The Report omits, without explanation, a great deal of highly relevant, credible information that would certainly have a bearing on the HRC's evaluation. In fact it could be considered that the Mission had a duty to at least disclose in the Report, the existence and contents of such available evidence even if it disagreed with the contents.
