Why ban printer cartridges over 16 oz when I oz of Semtex is more than enough?

One ounce of Semtex, with a dupont electronic detonator, plus a chip from a digital watch plus a battery the size of a pea.

Say Goodnight Gracie --- Jumbo Jet 747 headed for Lockerbie, unplanned landing, in pieces.

See -- it is the ultimate triumph of moronism and stupidity to go after things.

You have to go after people, not things.

This means profiling, or dossier analysis.

Is it racial -- no not all terrorists are of one single race.

Is it religious -- yes, in part, all air terrorists so far have been muslims, so one would look more carefully at them.

Is it behavioral?

YES! That would be the main basis of clean profiling.

Who are they, age a religion and sex?

Where were they born?

Where have they been?

Who have they called overseas? In what countries?

Who are their associates?

Where do they worship?

Who is their Imam?

What has he said?

It's in the dossier.

This is not about race.

This is sometimes about religion.

It's always and mainly about a pattern of conduct that suggests risk.

So, behavioral based profiling is totally clean, utterly PC, utterly Legit, except in the eyes of America's foes and the ACLU (not to say that they are the same thing, would never say that, at least not out loud).

Muslim nations that are failed states (Yemen, Pakistan, Iran, Somalia, etc) need to be quarantined from all civilized nations. No freight of any kind, no postal, no telephone, no internet, no nothing. Total quarantine for 1000 or 2000 years or as long as it takes for them to be ready to interface with civilized humanity.

We did it to Cuba, we should do it to these savages.

Just cut them off.

They can "relate" to each other.

Tell each other how holy they are.

Not a problem.

Stay away from us.

Your terror mission is too easy for you, too hard for us. We can't afford you, so goodbye products from Yemen. We can get printer cartridges at Staples. See?|||The gov't bureaucrats are constantly fighting the last attack. liquid explosives? Limit liquids. Shoe bomber? Force folks to remove and scan shoes. Underwear bomber, invasive body scans and pat downs.

Printer cartridges are just the latest in a list of things to be banned.

Personally, I can't wait until some terrorist shoves some explosives in his anal cavity. Imagine the hilarity as us innocent travelers are forced to drop trousers, bend over and spread'em before we can board a plane!|||I hope you'll understand that no one is going to read the rest of your rant.

However, to answer your question, the TSA is very good at "closing the barn door after the horse has gone;" so naturally printer cartridges are the latest prohibition.
