Does anybody know it's real name?

Come on folks it's not freon it's refigerant! Freon is Dupont's brand name. If you don't know what you're talking about don't answer the question!|||Firstly it's not clear if you're actually asking a question or just being a pedant.

Freons are just types of CFCs, so they're not even in modern fridges. That said, it's arguably a genericised trademark like Portaloo or Elastoplast.

Also, it's "refrigerant". If you don't know how to spell properly then don't be so anal-retentive.|||http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Refrigerant

And yes it is Dupont 's trade name but it is also the very same thing .

here you will find the real name

http://www.epa.gov/chemfact/f_freon.txt|||Gas is easier to type than refrigerant. But writing down gas would be confusing to the public do you not agree? Refrigerant is the proper thing to refer to as you say but more folks recognize Freon as a name for refrigerant just as folks call a refrigerator an ice box or a range a stove.|||how long have you been working for Dupont's competitor?

Waaah|||it might say whats used on the compressor|||would you like some cheese with your whiiiine|||i thought it was antifreeze
